📩 12 Ways To Boost Your Digital Performance

Don't just settle for mediocre, take your digital performance to the next level

Hey 👋

Welcome to Neighbourhood Post issue #1 - easy to implement digital marketing ideas straight through your metaphorical letterbox.

Think of me as your friendly neighbourhood postman (not the DPD, shove-it-behind-the-wheelie-bin kind, but one of the friendly, smiley ones).

Maybe you’re a current client, someone we’ve worked with in the past, or you signed up via the website. Either way - I’m glad you’re here!

So let’s dive in with the first ever topic: how do we move from day-to-day to high performance digital activity?

Before we do, I’d love your support as I start this newsletter - please can you forward it to colleagues and friends and encourage them to subscribe. If someone forwarded this to you and you’re not already subscribed, you can subscribe here.

Don’t get stuck, shoot for the stars 🚀

The reality of growing your digital channels is there will always be more plateaus than peaks.

It’s just the nature of the beast.

But the real danger is subconsciously cruising on autopilot after you hit your plateaus. 🥱

We’ve all been there: seen the growth, got excited about the future but had the wind taken out of our sails when the momentum slows. When that happens, how do you get out of the rut?

The answer - stop doing the tired day-to-day stuff and do the wired high performance stuff.

Wondering what that is? Well, here are 12 examples - they won’t all be relevant for where you’re at now, but they’ll help jump-start you out of the sleepy haze towards continued growth.

  • 😴 Tired: Waiting until the end of the month to report on performance

  • 🤯 Wired: Using live dashboards through the month (we use Databox)

  • 😴 Tired: Planning your next “5 reasons why” carousel post for social

  • 🤯 Wired: Planning a new podcast or video series

  • 😴 Tired: Using your email newsletter to tell people what you’re up to

  • 🤯 Wired: Send an email full of insight and value (like this one!)

  • 😴 Tired: A social strategy that incorporates all channels

  • 🤯 Wired: A tailored growth strategy for each social channel

  • 😴 Tired: Replying to comments on your social posts

  • 🤯 Wired: Commenting on other’s social posts

  • 😴 Tired: Boosting your social media posts

  • 🤯 Wired: Planning a long-term paid social campaign

  • 😴 Tired: Measuring conversions from social media

  • 🤯 Wired: Measuring reach for social media

  • 😴 Tired: Making copy changes on lots of different website pages

  • 🤯 Wired: Building a stand-alone landing page for a campaign

  • 😴 Tired: Talking about your product/service

  • 🤯 Wired: Helping your audience solve real problems and jobs

  • 😴 Tired: Creating social content optimised for your brand guidelines

  • 🤯 Wired: Creating social content optimised for the ‘algorithm’

  • 😴 Tired: Non-marketing team dictating your content calendar

  • 🤯 Wired: Educating colleagues on what perfect content looks like

  • 😴 Tired: Sending regular emails to a 10 year old, bloated list

  • 🤯 Wired: Cleansing your email list to get rid of dormant people

I could probably write whole newsletters on every one of those points, and probably will in the coming weeks, but hopefully one or two lead you to new breakthroughs in your digital performance.

My old boss always used to say “Do what you always do, get what you always get.”

And if there’s one takeaway from this lovely bit of post, it would probably be that.

You can’t expect to get new results from the same day-to-day, tired activity.

So pick a couple from the list above, do some research and work out what it would take to put it into action.

See you next week ✌️

I’d love this newsletter to be a two way thing, so hit reply and send me a couple of your tired/wired takes too.
