5 Free Tools For Digital Marketers

In digital marketing, we need all the help we can get.

I’m sure you agree - especially if you work in a small organisation or team.

Over the last few years I’ve come across some tools to help you work faster and smarter.

We use some of them regularly and others on a few occasions. The good news is they all have some kind of free plan - so you can get started at zero cost.

No one loves a gatekeeper, so let me share the magic:

Take long videos and let AI identify and edit short clips for social media. This one can save you hours. Like all AI, it needs some handholding and is only as good as the operator (you), but if you get the hang of it you can churn out clips in no time at all.

Our scheduler of choice not only improves your posting consistency, but allows you to collaborate easily and effectively. Perfect if you have several stakeholders or team members who need to feedback.

#3 - Canva

You almost definitely know about this one (but did you know it’s free for charities?). Our number one tip for using Canva isn’t free, but it is useful; pay a designer to set you up with dozens of templates for email banners, social posts and more. It’s worth the one-off investment.

I’ve spoken about swipe files before: a space to gather inspiration. Using a bookmark manager like Raindrop helps you build up a library of ideas. Save social posts, blogs, websites, ads, and more and use tags and collections to organise.

#5 - Zapier

Automate your marketing processes and save hours at a time. We use Zapier for jobs like saving social media graphics to a Google Drive folder, sending subscribers between email platforms, recording survey results in a Google Sheet, and sending inspirational YouTube videos to a Slack channel. There’s a good chance it can save you a task or two.

There you go.

What tools are you using to boost your marketing efforts?
